Bernabe Concepcion wins by KO

Bernabe "The Real Deal" Concepcion lived up to his nickname. During the undercard of the Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito championship match, Concepcion kicked off the televised pay per-view match with an impressive knock out against Adam Carrera in the third round of the scheduled ten rounder. The 20-year old Concepcion, of Rizal, Philippines showed great footwork, handspeed and power to overwhelm the 25-year old Carrera of Cathedral City, California.

In third round Concepcion slipped under Carrera jab and countered with a hard right cross to the head of Carrera got back up, Concepcion quickly pounced on him. Concepcion finished off Carrerawith right upper-cut that landed flush to the left side of Carrera's head. It was Concepcion's ninth power shot in the round. Referee Joe Cortez waived the fight off in the @:14 minute in round 3. Trainer Freddie Roach, who had hailed Concepcion as the Philippines top boxing prospect, said he was impressed with Concepcion's performance.

"Bernabe's great puncher," said Roach to the Asian Journal. "He had great head movement, he has very good defensively. Overall, he had the complete package." Roach said that he wished that Carrera could have given Concepcion more rounds to work. "I expected more of a challenge," he said. "I wanted Bernabe to fight more rounds. He neds work behind the jab a little bit more and learn to keep his distance." The win brings Concepcion's record to 26-1-1 15 KO's and a possible title match.

There has been talk that Concepcion's win would set him up with a championship bout against 25-year old WBO Super Bantamweight Champion Juan Manuel Lopez of Puerto Rico. Lopez quickly deposed of Daniel Ponce De Leon early in June for the title. However, Roach is cautious of that opportunity for now. With Concepcion knocking out five of his last seven opponents, Concepcion needs more seasoning before fighting an established champion like the undefeated Lopez, according to Roach.

"He needs somebody that's going to push him for all ten rounds." he said."I dont think he's ready for a guy like Lopez. He needs more rounds. Whats going to happen when someone takes him to deep water?" Roach said he's going to take Concepcion back to the Wild-card gym to perfect his game. "His overall game is nearly perfect," said Roach. Angelito “Lito” de Leon David wins award of excellence

Angelito “Lito” de Leon David,watercolorist, was vested an Award of Excellence last Saturday, July 12, by the New Jersey Water Color Society for his sole entry entitled, Winter Reflection. The Associate Members Annual Show is currently ongoing at the Morris County Library in Whippany, NJ through Thursday, July 31. His piece, on which the technique of pouring was utilized, is part of the collection of Mr. Nilo and Mrs. Menchie Natural of Monroe Township, NJ.

Lito David was born in Balanga, Bataan. Shortly after he graduated Fine Arts at the University of Sto. Tomas, he was granted a painting scholarship by the Italian government. While in Rome, he took up further studies in restoration and conservation of manuscripts, books, paintings, historical monuments and other art objects. After his studies, he proceeded to New York City where he continued to exhibit in various shows while employed as an art restorer.

Upon his return to his motherland in 1969, he held more one-man shows and joined group exhibits. He founded the Watercolor Society of the Philippines and served at the Art Association of the Philippines in different capacities. A dedicated teacher of young artists, he taught in the Fine Arts departments of Philippine Womens University, College of the Holy Spirit and the University of the East for 22 years.

In 1992, Lito with his wife Teya, and son Tim, migrated to the USA. He continued to be active in the art scene and won various major prizes as member of the New Jersey, Garden State, and the American Watercolor Societies. He currently teaches at the Center for Visual Arts in Summit and at the Arts Guild of Rahway, NJ.

The New Jersey Water Color Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1938. Its purpose is to secure membership of dedicated watercolor painters to exhibit watercolor paintings of professional quality, to increase and expand opportunities for New Jersey artists and promote public interest in watercolor painting. worried about cattle supplies ? You really don't need that much to take care of a cat. Just a lot of love and a few basics... Remember, to spade/nu your cat. And, get all the needed vaccinations.
In order needed:
1. Food
Start with food the cat has been currently eating. Can get this after you take home your cat. Iams is wonderful and gives your cat a sleek coat, yet expensive.
2. Litter box and scoop
prefer: litter box inclosed with door. Some come with scoop. Sometimes you can find a bundled starter kit. These can be less expensive.
3. Litter for the litter box
I prefer clumping.
4. Collar and tag
Can purchase the tag at your local petco/pet store. Important, because it gives information in case your pet gets lost.
5. Nail Clippers and a Brush
ps: I also like to have a roller to get pet hair off of furniture (you can also use packing tape)

You don't have to spend a fortune on toys. Cats love yarn. Cats love toilet paper tubes. You can take an toilet paper tube, wrap yarn around it with glue, make and attach felt eyes and a face, poke holes and tie yarn for arms, and then attach it to a long piece of yarn. When it is dry, drag your creation around the room. Your cat will love chasing you. Some cats love cardboard boxes (to scratch, to climb in, to rub against). You can take a box and cut doorways, place a pretend mouse inside. Many scratchers are made with cardboard. Use your imagination. Cats also love balls in all sizes. My cat loves small foam footballs.
